Textiles - In stitches

We have started a new project which revolves around the process of stitching and the many different ways of stitching.

The term "In Stitches" can also refer to laughing a lot, so that theme could be prominent in the final piece or samples.

We have to look at artists who use 'stitch' in their work, and since my specialist area is character concept and development, I might look in a non literally way by looking at the work of Chris Sanders. (The creator of Lilo and Stitch, head story and character designer and animator, and the voice actor for Stitch himself.)
Granted this artist doesn't use actual stitching in his work, but by looking at his work, I could free machine or hand stitch a drawing of his character, Stitch, which could be a clever thing to do, as I'd be "Stitching Stitch."
To add another layer, I could draw Stitch laughing, as the piece would be "Stitching Stitch in Stitches."
